How can an increase
in Biodiversity lead to an increase in Ecosystem stability?
Before answering the
question I will tell you little bit about Ecosystem. So Ecosystem is a
community of Plants, Animals and Microorganisms that live, feed, reproduce and
interact with each other and with the environment they are living. Ecosystem is
the basic functional unit of environment. In this living organisms interacts
with non-living organisms and with their environment. Ecosystem is further
divided into two components one is biotic and other is abiotic. Biotic contain
living things like plants, animals and microorganisms etc while abiotic contain
non-living things like water, light, and air etc. Now move towards that How can
an increase in Biodiversity lead to an increase in Ecosystem stability?
An increase in biodiversity can lead to an increase in ecosystem stability in several ways:
Increased resilience: A diverse ecosystem can better withstand environmental stressors such as climate change, natural disasters, and invasive species. With a variety of species in an ecosystem, there is a greater chance that some will be able to adapt and survive in changing conditions, which helps to maintain overall ecosystem function.

This means that they use resources in different ways, and when there is a high level of biodiversity, resources are used more efficiently. For example, some plants may have deep roots that access water from deep in the soil, while others may have shallow roots that absorb nutrients from the topsoil.
